This blog has all the adoption links that helped me. It's also a journal of our adoption. It's continued as you see below to another blog. Make sure you search the archives of that one to read the continueing journey. We have been home now with our son for over 2 years. Successful doesn't even cover how perfect he is and how well he has melded into our family. If you would like to do a journal of this kind please email me. As you see I haven't kept this journal up to date at all. Mostly because I have started Dreamer's Musings. I will see if I can add more links to the left that may help those of you who have come here to read about our adoption journey. If you click on the link for Dreamers Musings and go into the archives you can continue reading about our journey to bring Gavry home. In January and I think March I write about our trip to Russia, court, everything until we arrived back here on US soil. ENJOY!

Sunday

Well as you can tell by the dates we haven't posted here. I started another 'blog' journal at http://dreamersmusings.com and just couldn't keep up with both. We completed our adoption. The whole story is on the other journal site in the archives. Part one is dated the first week of January and the part 2 is dated about a month or so later. It has been a while since I updated ya'll here on what's going on. I want to apologise! I have just been busy redoing all my graphic sites, etc and just been busy being a mommy! At any rate.... GOOD NEWS! Our facilitators are meeting with the judge on TUESDAY to set our court date!!!! YEEHAW!!

I can't believe I haven't posted on here since the 8th. We leave this Thursday! EEK!! We'll be flying into Moscow on Friday. I'll be bringing my brother's laptop with us and hope to post on here daily if possible. :o)

Wednesday

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!! WE RECEIVED OUR INVITE!!! Just made reservations at the Marriott Tverskaya (Grand) for the 24th and 25th. We fly out the 26th to Volgograd. We're there till the 29th. Staying at the Marriott again the 29th and 30th then fly out for home the 31st!!!!!!! EEK!!!!!!!

Monday

hmmm I haven't heard anything yet today... was supposed to get the 'official' call. Ah well... we're still shooting to leave for Russia August 23rd. Just to recap the procedures and what will happen... We will fly over there (tentatively) Aug 23rd, arrive the 24th in Moscow. Sunday we will fly to Volgograd (2hr flight). Monday we will meet with the Ministry of Education and receive our referral possibly for the Volgograd City orphanage but agency won't know definitely till I'm there! We then go to indicated orphanage and meet our child. We will spend the next 3 days spending time with our child, reviewing medicals and then signing an acceptance. We will fly back to Moscow Thursday (I think) and then fly back to the States Friday. We then wait for our court date. We're 100% paperwork ready so my agency is hopeful that this will be relatively soon. We'll see. :o) Once we receive our court date we fly back to Moscow/Volgograd, go to the court hearing then wait 10 days. This is in case the child's family wants to stop the adoption for any reason. After the 10 days we are free to pick up our child (YAY!!!) and then fly back to Moscow. Once there we must go to the Embassy, have a medical review on the child and get his/her Visa. Once all the paperwork is complete we can come home!! Then we are FOREVER A FAMILY!!
